Unfinished SimCity 2000 Project

At the beginning of 2017, I started playing a game of SimCity 2000, one of my childhood favorites, on hard mode with the worst geographical settings possible. The result is below: part screenshot Let’s Play, part tutorial, part political drama. Just like Nikolai Gogol’s great novel Dead Souls, it remains forever unfinished, but it’s still worth reading. (Yes, I am comparing myself with one of the world’s greatest authors.)

Music reviews and posts

Video and PC games have always provided me with an escape from reality, but the same is true of music.  Here are some pieces I’ve written about music (almost all of it video/PC game music, though I’m into a lot more music than just that.)  I’ve also written some reviews of albums and soundtracks that are listed on the Reviews page.

Aimless bullshit

On occasion, I get a fire in my gut, and I write something I regret in the morning.  I never take it down, though.  Here’s a selection of my brain excrement.  If you need a reason to hate me, read all of the following nonsense.

Politics, video games, and “nerd culture”
The myth of the entitled gamer
Why I’m not excited about the Final Fantasy VII remake
What kinds of mushrooms are Mario and Luigi eating?
Amazon thinks I’m a pervert
How to misuse your ellipses and infuriate your readers
